Action Desks

Virtually all software is “pull” oriented, meaning users can pull information from it, but they need to know where to go and what to look for. For small applications this is fine, but for comprehensive multi-role software such as ULTRAMAIN, where multiple people using possibly multiple roles must interact to get a job done, a pull orientation is insufficient.

Throughout ULTRAMAIN is a mature Action Desk™ architecture that pushes information to users by individual or role, when and where they need it. It comes with setup and administration capabilities that allow customers to establish routing and routing conditions based on the attributes relevant to the type of Action Desk. For instance, for purchase orders, commodity type or purchase amount could determine who receives the routing.

Action Desks in ULTRAMAIN are where transactions are routed. Users only have to go to them to see what needs their attention. But Action Desks are more than just end routing points; they are also fully functioning workspaces that provide full decision support and actioning support needed to get the job done, which is exactly why we named them Action Desks.

The system provides full audit trails so you can see what was done, when and by whom. You can also see where overall business process bottlenecks exist so you can take action to reduce workflow delays.
