efbCrewComms™ operates on EFB aircraft hardware bringing data cockpit communications into the 21st century by providing chat and email communications to allowed participants. efbCrewComms takes advantage of the superior ease of entry of ULTRAMAIN software on EFBs with air-to-ground-to-air data communications. Important topics can be “discussed” in real time between cockpit crew and ground crew.
efbCrewComms operates on EFB aircraft hardware utilizing the EFB data connection to the aircraft 429 busses and existing air-to-ground-to-air data communications capabilities such as ACARS and SATCOM. Flight Crew members use the EFB touch screen glass to move between screens and to type /send messages as well as to view received messages. Messages are sent to the efbCrewComms Ground System where positive send-receive tracking is enforced. From the Ground System, messages are sent to and received from external systems.
